You are correct of course.

However, it ALSO wouldn't hurt if one of the flippin' people from Crytek would take three minutes of their valuable valuable time and put a post here saying something of the sort.

Silence is not golden.  It just makes the PAYING PLAYER BASE (ie....YOUR PAYCHECK) get the impression that you either don't care or are not even looking at the issue.

I fully understand that the devs and programmers cannot reply to every single post reporting an issue with a game, BUT when one is as obvious as this one and affecting as many people as this one, some acknowledgement would be the smart business move.

Just for the record, I created a new game (Delta mode) and got all the way to around the second or third "checkpoint reached" in the Core level before this issue again reared it's ugly head.  As I was playing my way through the levels I made sure that each and every time the game did a self-save that was not corrupted (or whatever the issue is) that I kept that save and deleted or  pulled out of the saved games folder in the "my games" section on my h/d everything else.

So here I am again, with a game that is at a point where it just locks up on the "checkpoint reached" at my current level and then eventually just crashes to desktop.  This just flat out sucks.  Period.

All these PLAYER PROVIDED WORKAROUNDS are ok....but they ARE NOT SOLUTIONS TO CRYTEKS PROBLEM WITH THIS GAME NOT WORKING.

As great as this game is, and don't get me wrong, I love this game (when it is running properly), at this point I do not see me buying another product from this company.  Customer support is EVERYTYHING in business, not matter how stellar your product, and this company is not providing it.

I will keep bumping this thread until I am either banned for it or it gets a response from Crytek.  Give ya'll two guesses which happens first......

Your comment is awesome!

I think I know what part of the problem is. Crytek is in Germany.  http://www.crytek.com/contact/

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

Hi guys, I'm on the list with the same problem, I also posted at Crymod but got no answer at least to confirm the issue is known. And I can say FOR SURE it comes after patching to 1.1 as I experimented a lot after realizing the problem was in savegame file size. So, any hope for the SP players to have the game running fine (at last) with 1.2 patch? It seems to me that all dev efforts are going to MP issues and this saving/loading nonsense is ignored at all.

Something is wrong with your computer. The forum works just fine. Try again...

no, something's wrong with their site, its either my isp blocking their site or their site blocking my isp, i dunnoe but it never loads...

anyway i think i might have identified some pattern or something... basically , the less you do in a level the less likely you are to corrupt your savegames, kill the enemies quickly , proceed to the next checkpoint as directly as you can, dont backtrack if you dont have to, etc... also the less things you have going on when it is saving, the less likely it is to corrupt... and i dunnoe if this makes sense or not but i found that if i reload my gun right when its checkpointing, it saves and loads ok but if i dont , the saving and loading problem is going to happen again

ive finished the single player campaign , i am going to go on multiplayer now... aahh, a life without checkpoints and loading times...

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

our save-games are getting larger.  EA's *weeks* apparently are getting larger too.....   the "weekly" patch update is a day overdue.  hmm.  seems our worries aren't so bad afterall.

lol, just trying to be funny, to break the life-sucking, buzz-killing tension that waiting has spawned.  smile

/me fidgets, twiddles fingers, shakes foot, and debates round 3 of another unmentioned game, ending in *cough* .....   4

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

I did not uninstall the 1.1 patch....just cleaned out the save game folder and installed the new one. The problem loading the game started at the Tank level and that was the save game I inserted........game actually ran better after doing this.....been hell for an SLI system.

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

I also had the same problem, started with Onslaught.

Specs:

C2D E6420 @ 2.67ghz
2 gigs PC6400 crucial ballistix tracers @ 667mhz
evga NF67 680i LT
evga 8800 GTS 320mb @ 688/1693/1000
WD raptor 150gb
xp pro sp2

Also when I'm driving a vehicle, the boat or jeep, I can't fire the gun?

...and you have installed the Crysis 1.1 patch - right? Just to be clear, I am asking. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

yes with 1.1 patch.  I knew about the patch already when I bought the game, never even played it unpatched.  Immediately after installing the game, I installed the patch.

Also, in an unrelated problem, when I press C to bring up my weapon mods, it takes like 5 secs to come up and then 5 to go back, the game sort of pauses as this happens.  I uninstalled the game and reinstalled with the same results.

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

Re-installed yesterday because of the V1.1 load/save problems and am back to normal now and my savegame files are back down to around 1.3Mb compared to 3.9Mb under V1.1.

I don't if it's my imagination but the whole game feels slicker as well.

Now..... who will be brave enough to do the testing of V1.2 for Crytek when that comes out?

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

Yea, I'll be playing the 1.2 when it comes out.
Last time I played, the save games started from 500k on every level. In the end of the levels, they were like 900k - 1700k.
Didn't have any problems that time, but that might be because I pretty much ran through the levels.

People of all nationalities work for Crytek; and they have more than one studio than just the one in Frankfurt.

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

boohoo

just because microsoft employs all the glorious technicolor nationals of the world, and has offices as far apart as the eye can see, does not alter the fact that they are an american company

what a pedantic point to make

is the bbc not british because they employ an italian correspondant, and have offices in paris?

wow

also the germans lost 2 world wars smile

not relevant but i just wanted to say that smile

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

I've been getting problems, too. Half the time when the game reaches a checkpoint (or I quick-save), the game just closes on me. No error message.

"Game saving... OOH WE DON'T WANNA GIVE YOU THAT."

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

similar to what others posted, i also have the loading checkpoints problem since i've installed the 1.1 patch. now, the only solution aparently is reinstalling the whole game, so this is what i'll do.

but... the reason that i did install the patch in the first place, was for that i couldn't get the 'recovery' mission to a good end. after blowing up those korean tanks, nothing happens. on several forums i've read posts about completing the mission without mission updates, but this isn't working for me. i've been all over the place, killed every north korean soldier from the village to the waterfall and anywhere else, but the game doesn't move on.

what can i do to get to the next mission?

You have to go into the jungle, it's straight through the village from the bridge.. Just keep following the river upstream and meet with Prophet. Make sure you go into the caves before he does, otherwise the caves will block itself up..

If you really don't know how to proceed, try searching for walkthroughs or guides or you can try http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=13946 for custom saved games..

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

this totally outrageous

and enough to make anyone want to give up PC games forever and stick to consoles

how ludicrous... I really don't understand how they expect people to put up with this crap

patching, then uninstalling, reintsalling etc...

to be frank, aside the visuals the gameplay isn't that psectacular in any case

ive uninstalled and to be honest cant really be arsed to try and get it to work again because I know that there will be some other problem soon enough

Re: Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1

follow this thread for a fix now.  this one works, and thru the end.

http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopi … 64#p337764

the caveat is that so far the only posts reference xp32 systems, but i feel strongly that it will work for others.

thanks to aim1234, guys, he rules!
