Saving/Loading Problems with 1.1
I'm playing through again for a 2nd time now with the patch and there is an irritating issue with saving and loading. When I reach a checkpoint and the game has to save (which usually took like a second) now takes 30-40 seconds or just hangs up my system completely. Anyone have any ideas?
Getting really frustrating to play....

I have the same problem. But it takes 'bout 5 mins. And sometimes crashes.

Yeah today I tried to do a manual save and still no luck. Its just locking up now. Lets see if a re-install helps. Let me know if you figure something out Skorpy...

Someone on another forum said, that you should delete the old save games, but it did not work.

Yep, same here. Somewhere in the middle of that tank level it suddenly started to take very long to save and load (up to minutes). That indeed sucks. I'd really like to finish the game just for principle sake cuz at least plot aint makin me wanna do so (worse than in C class movie). So if anyone thinks any solution to this feel free to post it here.
PS. This is the first game in like 2 years I have had any noticeable technical issues with.

Agreed, the plot sucks...
I'm just in the end of the game... My friend told that it ends there, man i was pissed...
I re-installed the game... nothing. The same damn problem. And I even installed it to another drive.
And, where the hell does the save games go on Vista?!? Can't find them anywhere.

Yeah the last level was a let down. Not to mention the wonderful framerates that came with it. Someone needs to take notice of this issue. I had to delete the game thus making this a complete GAME STOPPING BUG. For me anyway.
Sorry Skorpy no idea about Vista...

Open your documents folder and its in the "My Games" folder.

Same Problem here! I was playing the Relic level when saving suddenly took about 30 secs. I will try to delete old savegames and hope that'll fix it!

Thats where it started for me Popopinsel. Eventually it just got worse and buggered everything. Hope you fare better than I did...

I have found the solution!!!!
You must unistall the game, at the same time to put the save file into the desktop, then you istall the game without the patch and to put the save file into C:document and setting/my games. The first time the loading will be too long but to the next saving will return very quikly!!!

So your "solution" is to re-install the game without patch 1.1 to avoid some kinda bug/memory leak that came with patch 1.1? You must be a genius!

The first thing I did, was repairing Crysis through Control panel. Saving and loading was fixed, but when I loaded a save game, it just fell through the floor. I even tried to restart the level, but it did the same thing again. And then installed the update and still have the damn problem.

I had a similar problem as you guys.
Try downloading all of the hotfixes for your OS.
My game was crashing when it tried to save the game. I downloaded the KB940105 hotfix for Vista and it solved the problem.
